It seems that superhero movies are the new big thing in cinema and it is no surprise that Marvel is leading the race with breath taking movies every year. The Marvel cinematic universe has taken over cinema and even surpassed Star Wars as the longest movie franchise of all time. Truth be told, they are nowhere close to stopping at this point with phase 4 already in development with Avengers 4 bringing phase 3 to a close.

Here are 5 Phase 4 MCU movies that are currently in development;

Spiderman – Far from Home

Spiderman

Apparently he was only turned to dust temporarily. Spiderman: Far from Home is the only movie to be confirmed after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The reboot of our favorite web-singer was an amazing success and the sequel will hopefully bone of many to follow. We do not really know the story line as Avengers 4 is yet to come out but we do know a few things. Jacob and Michelle reprise their roles as class mates of Peter and we know that Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Mysterious, the main villain or one of the villains. We do know that the story will take the gang overseas as we saw during the start of Infinity War in which they were going on a trip somewhere. How far from home is it, only time will tell.

Black Widow

Black Widow

Natasha Roman off is finally getting a Black Widow solo movie which the fans have been waiting for since the Avengers and how important she has been to the team. Scarlett Johansson is set to reprise her role as Black Widow herself, a role which she has played since Iron Man 2. Seems like a hundred years ago I know.We do not really know the plot but there have been theories that it will be a prequel taking her back to her childhood and spy days. Some rumors even suggested that the winter soldier bucky Barnes will be in it too after Age of Ultron in which she said, “you don’t remember me?”. Production is expected to begin in 2019 and we expect the film to be out around summer 2020.

The Eternals

Following the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel studios have thrived by turning lesser known characters into fan favorites and giant franchises. They should that any characters they introduce in their whole universe can have movies on their own. Eternals is their next big attempt to bring some relatively unknown characters to the big screen. We do not know yet who among the roster is set to appear but we do know that Marvel has hired Chloe Zhao to direct the movie with the script written by Mathew and Ryan Firpo. 2020 is the expected year for this mega release and as of now, Marvel fans are ecstatic for any series or movie news they hear. The more the merrier, they say.

Black Panther 2

Black Panther has been one of the best superhero movies produced till date and the highest critically rated Marvel movie yet. Everything about this movie was spot on including the cast,the story line and especially the villain. In fact, who would have thought that Killmonger would become one of the best villains in the best universe with such a good back story. Marvel is planning to get the sequel out as early as late-2019 or early-2020. Obviously, we are going to see the main cast return with Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong’o in the lead. The first movie earned a mammoth 1.3 billion dollars so you can definitely expect Marvel to replicate the same quality as the first installment and even better.

Guardians of the galaxy vol. 3

One of our favorite Marvel franchises has suffered a tremendous setback with the firing of James Gunn who was the director of the first two movies and set to direct the third installment. However, Gunn’s script will still be used as confirmed by Marvel.We doubt that the movie would be released any time before 2021 as we still don’t know who will replace Gunn as director. Dave Bautista was particularly upset with the firing and said he will not return for the third installment if Gunn isn’t directing. We still don’t know the fate of Gomora and the rest of the cast so we might even see a roster change. Adam Warlock and Nova are well on the card.

DOCTOR STRANGE 2

Just because the sorcerer supreme faded into dust doesn’t mean it’s the End Game for him. The first Doctor Strange was a really good movie and his part in the Avengers shows exactly how important he is in the team. There are tons of fan theories regarding whether he faded away or was it just an act. He is a magician after all. Also, there have been rumors regarding the time stone which they say he sent to the past hence explaining the time travel theory. Coming back the sequel of the solo movie itself, Marvel has been planning to include two sequels. Only time will tell if the sequel will be in phase 4 or in phase 3. You never know with Marvel.
